We are seeking to appoint a School Attendance Support Worker, who will provide vital advice and guidance for schools and families around attendance. In Lancashire, our school attendance is largely in line with national average data, but our aim is to exceed that. We want to ensure that our schools have the right advice and guidance to ensure their pupils attend regularly and that they have the strategies in place to support children and families who face barriers to attendance. Our committed team work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals to ensure that the Local Authority meet their responsibilities in line with 'Working Together to Improve School Attendance'. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated team member to join our knowledgeable and passionate team. You will relish the opportunity to meet with senior leaders in school to discuss attendance matters, alongside supporting pupils and their families who face barriers to attendance. The role is an opportunity to make a real difference in this vital aspect of education. The School Attendance Support Worker roles within our team offer real variety and provide the opportunity to be innovative, influential and make a positive difference to the attendance of children in our schools. The ability to organise and lead meetings with senior leadership colleagues in schools, coordinate partnerships between schools, families and wider services within the local authority and the voluntary sector, using a range of data sources to monitor attendance are vital parts of the role. We are seeking a committed, energetic and tenacious colleague with a record of making a positive impact on the lives of young people and who can work collaboratively within a strong and experienced team. This is an agile role, which will include frequent travel to schools across North Lancashire including Morecambe, Fleetwood and Lancaster plus team meetings in Preston and Chorley.
