This is a Full‑Time community job (10 PAs) based in the Hillingdon Learning Disability Team. You will work with a core trainee, higher specialist trainee and colleague consultants.
CNWL has built excellent links with Brunel University; the successful candidate will have the option to take up an extra 1PA as an educational post.

Responsibilities
You will provide a Consultant Psychiatric service for adults with Learning Disabilities living in Hillingdon. Support and develop the provision of ongoing psychiatric input to people with Learning Disabilities living in the community. Attend community team referrals and complex case reviews, community team clinical governance and management meetings. The clinical case load will be a mix of clinic‑based appointments, work in local residential providers and day resources.
You will also provide a Consultant Psychiatric service for people with a Learning Disability who may be admitted on Frays and Crane Ward, acute inpatient mental health wards at The Riverside Centre (2 beds). This would include providing Responsible Clinician cover, attending and providing Responsible Clinician input at weekly ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, administration and preparation of tribunal reports.
Lead the collaboration with mainstream mental health services within the Borough. Actively participate in the shaping of new services in light of recent and ongoing changes to the NHS, in collaboration with relevant Clinical and Service Managers.
Clinical Work
* Diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders both in in‑patient and out‑patient settings.
* Provision of psychiatric expertise on mental health issues, including providing specialist assessments, involvement in case discussions, advice, support and training to community and inpatient services colleagues where appropriate.
* Responsible Clinician (RC) responsibility for LD beds. There has been flexibility with regards to this number and in the past up to 4 LD patients have been admitted at a given time on the acute units.
* To respond to the needs of the service, including providing a rapid response to requests for pre‑admission assessment (including for assessments under the MHA), when required for both patients from the Hillingdon catchment area, and those referred from other Boroughs and services.
* To provide a clinical leadership role to ensuring that the Trust meets its objectives within Improving Access to Healthcare for people with a learning disability.
* Acting as responsible clinician for community patients on Community Treatment Orders.
* To provide appropriate referral to other tertiary and specialist services e.g. Forensic Services according to local protocols.
* To further develop the relationship with CAMHS services and the management of people in transitions.
* Participation in the service Care Quality Management group work plan.
