It is an exciting time to be joining Public Health Wales as Lead Cloud Architect. This is a new role with responsibility for supporting the delivery of high-profile digital and data programmes. You will lead the development of cloud architecture strategies, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient-focused digital services.
The Cloud Transition team is a small but emerging function within Digital Services. A key part of your role will be to manage and develop a team of cloud engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to ensure the team delivers robust, compliant, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure and services.
We offer a great place to work with flexible home and office arrangements, training and development opportunities, and a supportive, inclusive environment. As a leader in the Digital Services division, you will support other teams in adopting new approaches to digital development, set standards for cloud governance, and collaborate with colleagues across NHS Wales to leverage cloud technologies for improved service delivery.
Reporting to the Head of Digital Experience and Services, you will lead the planning and design of cloud architecture, assess and monitor cloud performance, costs, and risks, align cloud solutions with digital transformation and data governance, and oversee partner relationships and procurement.
The role will require close collaboration with Leads for Cyber and Ops, ensuring shared understanding of goals. Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple organizations is essential.
