An exciting job role has recently become available at the Orkney Island Council. They are looking for a new member for their Adult Learning Disabilities Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Case Management: Conduct assessments and manage cases for adults and carers, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and service policies, including relevant legislation like Adult Support and Protection, Adults with Incapacity, and Mental Health laws.
2. Service Coordination and Delivery: Formulate, negotiate, and implement intervention measures, coordinating care packages and resources in line with the Self Directed Support (Scotland) Act 2013, and monitor and review these packages based on changing needs.
3. Collaboration and Advocacy: Work collaboratively with multi-professional and multi-agency teams to empower adults and carers, ensuring their satisfaction with services and advocating on their behalf as necessary.
4. Reporting and Legal Duties: Prepare and present reports for court hearings and case conferences, attend court as needed, and chair planning meetings and reviews focused on outcomes.
5. Professional Responsibilities: Participate in out-of-hours social work services, undertake continuous professional development, maintain accurate records, and adhere to service policies, standards, and quality assurance systems.
What we are looking for in a Social Worker:
6. Social Work England registration
7. Eligible to work in the UK
8. Hold a full UK licence
9. Post-qualified experience
10. Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
