Early Years Educator Apprenticeship – Wroughton Academies
Location: Wroughton Academies, Gorleston, Norfolk, NR31 8BD.
About The Role
As an apprentice, you’ll work mainly with children aged 5 or below in our Early Years/Foundation provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the classroom while studying for a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
Apprenticeship Summary
* Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8:15 am – 3:30 pm and Wednesday 8:15 am – 4:15 pm
* Pay: £7.55 per hour (first 12 months), then National Minimum Wage
* Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship
* Duration: 19 months
* Training: Online learning with regular support from a dedicated tutor at LMP Education, as well as your in‑school mentor
Key Responsibilities
* Under the instruction/guidance of teaching or other senior staff, undertake care, child‑centred activities, play opportunities and experiences to support individuals or groups of EYFS pupils.
* Provide specialised support for those with SEND, enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and our Early Years provision.
* Liaise with teachers, support, health and education specialists, parents, visitors and volunteers.
* Assist in delivering tailored care and educational programmes for EYFS pupils.
* Support the children with their physical care routines, such as changing nappies, toilet training and mealtimes.
* Where appropriate, provide pastoral, first‑aid, restorative conversations or other support to children.
* Supervise and provide particular support for pupils with SEND, Pupil Premium and the more able.
* Facilitate learning by preparing and leading activities, play opportunities and experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensuring pupils can access learning opportunities.
* Provide feedback to teachers, parents and the SEND team on individual children and their progress.
* Offer constructive feedback to both pupils and teachers, helping to monitor progress and foster achievement.
* Support children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or through targeted activities and interventions.

Desired Skills & Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs (grades A*‑C / 9‑4) including English and Maths or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2)
* Previous experience with children is a bonus, but not essential
Future Prospects
* Opportunity for full‑time employment at the academy upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

Important Information
* All apprentices must complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting
* You will be paid for both your working hours and time spent completing apprenticeship training
