An opportunity has arisen for an IT Programme Manager to join a small, dedicated IT capability within the UK that leverages the extensive IT resources of the worldwide Boeing Company to deliver complex solutions to the business and its clients.
The IT Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple related IT projects to ensure successful delivery aligned with business objectives and strategy.
This role involves strategic planning, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication to drive complex IT programmes from initiation through to completion.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future
Position Responsibilities:
1. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies.
2. Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, analysts, and vendors to deliver business outcomes.
3. Develop and maintain programme plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
4. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the programme lifecycle.
5. Manage stakeholder expectations through regular communication, reporting, and engagement.
6. Ensure compliance with IT governance, standards, and best practices.
7. Facilitate programme-level decision-making and escalation processes.
8. Monitor programme performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Support change management activities related to IT programme implementations.
10. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project managers and team members.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
11. Extensive experience (7+ years) managing large-scale programmes or portfolios.
12. Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and drive consensus.
13. Strong knowledge of programme and project management methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe).
14. Experience with cloud migration, legacy system modernisation, and enterprise application integration.
15. In-depth understanding of change management principles.
16. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
17. Experience with budgeting, financial management, and contract negotiation.
18. Proficiency with programme management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence).
19. Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
20. Experience in leading IT Projects and Programmes in the Defence, Aerospace or Automotive domains
21. Relevant certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Agile, or Change Management (e.g., Prosci) are highly desirable.
22. Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and cloud platforms.
23. Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
24. Ability to influence and lead cultural change in a complex organisational environment.

Security Clearance
This position requires the ability to acquire a UK security Clearance for which the UK Government requires UK residency. The successful candidate will hold, or have the ability to acquire, Security Clearance (SC).

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the United Kingdom. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
