Salary: Up to £60,000, based on your skills and experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Platform Technical Authority (TA) in various aspects of Auxiliary Systems. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in requirements, acceptance, architecture, and safety of the Auxiliary Systems scope.
* Leading the Zonal Review programme to achieve final compartment approval.
* Managing technical aspects of Auxiliary System Suppliers, including design reviews.
* Coordinating Auxiliary Systems Design Reviews.
* Resolving key technical issues related to Auxiliary Systems.
* Implementing Lessons Learned from previous programmes.
* Conducting technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
* Reviewing key supplier engineering deliverables.
* Supporting the Platform TA in achieving Certification.
Your Skills and Experiences:
We’re looking for candidates who possess:
* Strong management skills to support multi-discipline, multi-site teams.
* Experience in the design, development, integration, and operation of Auxiliary/HVAC Systems in a naval environment.
* An understanding of broader Warship platform design and operational principles.
* Knowledge of Product Safety and environmental evaluation legislation.
* Experience in managing internal/external stakeholders and customers.
* Familiarity with Lloyds Regulations.
All engineers should hold an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM fields, along with specific qualifications to become recognized as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a professional institution. We encourage and support our engineers in achieving relevant accreditations.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Auxiliary Systems Team:
Join our Maritime Naval Ships team as a Principal Engineer specializing in Auxiliary Systems. You will support the Technical Authority in the design, development, and spatial integration of Auxiliary sub-systems on the CSC platform. Your role will ensure that engineering meets Lifecycle Management governance and reporting requirements, while also taking responsibility for the safety and acceptance of Auxiliary Sub-Systems.
This position is crucial in delivering an affordable, capable ship throughout the Design Definition Phase, while also supporting Product Safety, Key Hazard certification, and Environmental activities.
