We are excited to advertise the position of senior physiotherapist to work at Royal Hampshire County Hospital within our elective orthopaedic therapy team. This post will include working in our state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Centre in Winchester, scheduled to open in August 2025, as well as working within our existing elective orthopaedic services.

Main duties of the job
1. To work in the brand new, state-of-the-art Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre (HOC) based at Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester, working with orthopaedic surgeons from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and other members of the MDT to support day 0 discharges in arthroplasty and day case surgery
2. To work within existing elective orthopaedic services at Royal Hampshire Count Hospital
3. To support the team with supervising junior staff members, therapy support workers and students
4. Support clinics such as patient education and elective arthroplasty follow up clinics
5. To take part and lead in the robust in service training programme to the team and wider MDT
6. When required, support the orthopaedic therapy team cross site
7. To take an active role in service development, quality improvement and other projects within the department and Trust
8. Deputise for the team lead when they are absent
9. Take part in the weekend rota
10. Take part in the respiratory on-call rota for the Trust

Qualifications/ training
Essential criteria
11. BSc/MSc/Grad diploma Physiotherapy or equivalent
12. HCPC registration
13. Previous orthopaedic experience
Desirable criteria
14. CSP membership
15. Additional post graduate training
16. Member of relevant specialist interest group eg. ATOCP
Experience/ knowldege
Essential criteria
17. Evidence of band 5 rotations/appropriate clinical experience
18. Demonstrate effective management of own workload and autonomous practice
19. Knowledge and experience of working clinically within the NHS, with an awareness of evidence based practice
20. Evidence of undertaking relevant post graduate training/CPD including reflective practice
Desirable criteria
21. Experience of participating in respiratory on-call rota
22. Previous appropriate experience of being a clinical band 6
23. Evidence of researching HHFT as an employer and expressing wanting to work for the Trust
24. Experience of teaching to teams/individuals
Skills and ability
Essential criteria
25. Effective verbal and written communication skills
26. Experience of or demonstrate potential to lead the team in seniors absence
27. IT literate
Desirable criteria
28. Experience of using certain IT programmes, including SWASH, EPR, Microsoft Teams
