Our client are are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to support the development and smooth operation of software systems across our organisation. You will play a critical role in driving automation, maintaining development environments, and ensuring high standards of code control. This role offers the opportunity to work in a purpose-driven environment, contributing to impactful digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain robust tools and testing environments to support agile software development.
* Write and maintain software to automate system processes and reduce manual intervention.
* Manage central code repositories and enforce development standards across projects.
* Collaborate effectively with developers, IT personnel, and key stakeholders to create and support technical solutions.
* Identify and resolve technical issues quickly to maintain service continuity and enhance system reliability.
* Monitor infrastructure performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
* Apply best practices in CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
* Ensure compliance with security standards and internal governance requirements.
* Provide technical input in planning, architecture, and design of new systems and features.
* Contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in regular reviews and post-implementation evaluations to capture lessons learned.
* Help develop internal capabilities and support colleagues in adopting DevOps methodologies.
Essentials:
* Programming and Build:Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
* Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or similar.
* Cloud Services:Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Infrastructure as Code:Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
* Security:Understanding of information security practices and controls.
Desirable:
* Experience of developing graduate capabilities within an organisation.
* Previous experience of working within DevOps in a policing environment.
