Our client a specialist engineering business, are looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to support customers across the gas and instrumentation sector. The role combines laboratory work with occasional site visits, offering a varied and hands-on environment. What will you be doing? • Provide technical support to clients and service engineers via phone and email • Calibrate, repair and service systems, mainly GC instrumentation • Prepare test equipment and support FATs with clients present • Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on-site and in-house • Deliver remote support for reactive maintenance • Strip down and overhaul gas analysers, regulators and control valves • Carry out PLC/flow computer programming, configuration and fault finding • Compile reports and documentation for all customer activities • Support technically complex customer orders and internal teams • Join a 24/7 helpline rota once trained • Attend training courses relevant to the position.
