Position Overview
Health Care Support Worker (Band 3) – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The hospital network is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff and delivering acute, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Core Requirements
Essential experience: Prior work as a Health Care Support Worker within an OMFS surgical ward and specific experience in caring for maxillo‑facial patients in a surgical ward environment. Candidates lacking this experience will not be considered.
Band 3 support workers will join the Neurosurgical team in Ward 63, Institute of Neurological Sciences – a regional service covering the West of Scotland.
Shift Patterns
* Ward 63 – 37 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 12‑hour day, night and weekend shifts.
* Ward 64 – 18.6 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, day, night and weekend shifts.
* Ward 66 – 18.6 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, day, night and weekend shifts.
All positions require PVG scheme membership and a Disclosure Scotland check as part of NHSGGC pre‑employment screening. Weekend work is expected and all roles are full‑time.
