We are looking for a strategic, data-driven, and entrepreneurial Europe POP Business Planning Lead to join our UK team. This role will play a critical part in designing and executing JD.com’s open-platform (POP) marketplace strategy in Europe, with a focus on enabling local merchants, optimising operational performance, and driving long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement medium-to-long-term strategies for JD’s POP business in the UK and broader European markets, incorporating local market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscapes.
* Design a scalable marketplace ecosystem, including merchant onboarding standards, commission structures, traffic distribution mechanisms, and incentive programs to support GMV growth and platform monetisation.
* Build and manage a merchant development framework, providing guidance on category planning, pricing, and marketing. Monitor merchant performance and implement data-driven enablement initiatives, including training and compliance programs.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, payment, customer service, and technical teams to optimise the full fulfilment cycle (e.g. bonded/overseas warehouse management), reduce operational costs, and enhance customer experience.
* Define and track platform performance metrics (e.g. GMV, order volume, conversion rate, AOV), run A/B tests, and refine strategies for continuous improvement.
* Explore new business models, such as livestreaming commerce and social affiliate channels, to create a differentiated competitive edge.
* Ensure full localisation and compliance, partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Marketing teams to adapt product strategies to regional culture and regulatory requirements (e.g. IP, VAT, religious sensitivities).
* Manage payment ecosystem alignment, including external PSPs and FX considerations, to ensure compliant and cost-effective settlement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, E-commerce, Marketing, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in cross-border e-commerce, marketplace operations, or merchant platform management, with proven success in POP or third-party seller ecosystem development.
* Deep knowledge of the full e-commerce lifecycle including product selection, marketing, fulfilment, and after-sales services.
* Familiarity with overseas warehouse models, VAT rules, and EU/UK digital commerce regulations.
* Strong analytical and planning skills; proficient in Excel, Power BI, or similar data tools.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience in multicultural team environments.
* Fluent in English (required); Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
What We Offer
* A high-impact role in shaping JD.com’s marketplace expansion strategy in Europe
* A collaborative, multicultural, and fast-paced environment where innovation is encouraged
* Competitive compensation and benefits package, including private healthcare and performance-based bonuses
* The opportunity to work closely with global leaders in digital commerce and marketplace innovation
