Overview about the position:
The European Sourcing Manager will develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost efficiency and compliance for goods and services within the European Region. The ideal candidate will be located in Coventry, Leicester, Barnsley, Newcastle or Wigan. Other potential locations in the UK can be considered on a case by case basis.
The successful candidate will be a visionary procurement leader and change agent who will assist in the implementation of a procurement strategy to frame the company’s practices, policies, priorities and approaches to how the organization procures materials and services and raises its performance level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and implement sourcing and procurement strategies tailored to the European region working closing with the Global Directors of Strategic Souring to supporting both the local businesses and global company objectives.
* Identify, evaluate, and develop strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable purchase agreements and ensure they meet quality, cost, and service standards.
* Drive cost reductions through strategic negotiations, supplier consolidation, and comprehensive cost analysis to ensure maximum value for the company.
* Develop and deploy strategies to mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, cost increases, and single-supplier dependencies.
* Establish and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and compliant purchasing activities.
* Track key metrics, monitor supplier performance, and report on procurement activities, savings and working capital improvements to management.
* Work closely with site operations, global supply chain management, and other stakeholders to align procurement efforts with operational needs and business goals.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Business Administration, Finance, or other related field. A master’s degree in Business Administration, or Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) is desirable.
* +5 to 10 years of experience in functions/departments dealing with procurement and sourcing issues in a manufacturing company. Knowledge of offshore sourcing and importing issues will be highly valued.
* Willingness to travel.
* Fluent english is a must, any other languague will be a plus.
