You will be stepping into a key Health & Safety Advisor role on a major highways project, where your expertise will directly influence site standards, workforce wellbeing and successful project delivery. What you will be doing day to day As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will be embedded within the project team and trusted as the go-to safety professional on site. Your responsibilities will include: ·You will be advising site and project teams on all Health & Safety matters across a major highways project ·You will be carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with HSG, CDM and company standards ·You will be supporting accident and near-miss investigations and implementing corrective actions ·You will be delivering toolbox talks, briefings and safety inductions ·You will be monitoring subcontractor compliance and promoting a positive, proactive safety culture ·You will be working closely with project management to drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance What you'll need to bring To succeed, you will ideally have: ·Proven experience within highways, infrastructure or civil engineering ·A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) ·A strong understanding of CDM Regulations and highways safety standards ·Confidence communicating with site teams at all levels ·A proactive, solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety Salary and benefits ·Salary of £55,000 per annum ·Long-term stability on a major highways project ·Opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme with clear standards and support ·A role where your professional judgement is valued and listened to Location, working pattern and progression ·Based on site in Penrith, Cumbria ·Predominantly site-based, with regular engagement across the project team ·Strong potential for progression into senior or regional roles as future highways projects come online This position is ideal if you want to strengthen your CV with a flagship highways project while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in the North West.
