The Heat Treatment Operative is responsible for carrying out Heat Treatment processes on aerospace components to achieve the required mechanical properties, hardness, and metallurgical characteristics. The role involves operating furnaces, monitoring temperatures, applying appropriate heat treatment cycles, and ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and specifications. Day-to-day activities will involve operating numerous industrial ovens/furnaces to heat treat sheet metal components through processes such as solution treating, stress relieving, annealing, and precipitation. MAIN ACTIVITIES: SAFETY - Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including PPE requirements and safe handling of high-temperature equipment. - Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials used in heat treatment processes. - Participate in risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety. Suggested Measures - Customer / client feedback - Safety audits QUALITY - Conduct hardness testing, microstructure analysis, and other metallurgical inspections to verify heat treatment results. - Maintain accurate records of heat treatment processes, including batch numbers, cycle parameters, and inspection results. - Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards such as AMS2750 (Pyrometry) and Nadcap requirements. - Identify and report any deviations from specifications and assist in implementing corrective actions. - Provide excellent quality products and superior service to your stakeholders. - Complete an annual theory and practical internal competency exam for qualification stamp. - Complete weekly TMP check sheets for machines.
