Overview
Are you looking for a role where your engineering decisions genuinely shape long term safety and reliability? This position offers exactly that, giving you real ownership of systems that keep a highly regulated site running smoothly.
You will join a team that covers Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and C&I engineering, all working together to support safe operations. Your focus will be on C&I led systems, taking responsibility for maintenance planning, system health, and future investment decisions that ensure these assets continue to perform as required.
What Will You Be Doing
You will take ownership of a portfolio of systems, from plant instrumentation to health physics equipment and site wide communications. You will analyse their current condition, understand performance trends, and make informed recommendations that balance operational needs with long term engineering priorities.
Alongside this, you will help ensure the right maintenance routines, materials and documentation are in place so teams can work safely and effectively. Your insight will directly support ongoing operations, upgrades and project work across the site.
* Leading the strategy, planning and ongoing care of your assigned systems
* Defining maintenance, spares and documentation requirements to meet compliance
* Making investment recommendations supported by evidence and system data
* Providing technical support to teams and carrying out routine system walkdowns
Who Are We Looking For
You will be someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with structured planning. You can interpret drawings, assess risk, and translate engineering principles into practical action. Most importantly, you are comfortable taking ownership of your work and communicating clearly with colleagues across different engineering disciplines.
You will already hold a relevant engineering qualification at HNC level or above and have the ability to work within formal processes and safety frameworks. Experience of regulated industries, CDM or Safe Systems of Work is helpful but not essential. You do not need previous nuclear experience as full training will be provided.
You will bring:
* A relevant engineering qualification (HNC, degree or equivalent)
* The ability to read and work from technical drawings
* Clear communication and a practical, structured approach to engineering
* Ideally, professional membership or familiarity with regulated environments
