The role
You will be the Technical Leader for energy performance activities within the London office, acting as a source of technical expertise and leadership. The role focuses on technical leadership, line management, project delivery and business development, and involves managing the energy workstream, engaging with clients, and driving excellence across projects.
As part of the role you will
* Take ownership and lead the energy workstream within the sustainability team.
* Lead the energy workstream on large‑scale projects with industry‑leading clients.
* Act in a client‑facing role, attending project meetings and disseminating the brief within the project team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Manage and prioritise the workload of the energy team.
* Report energy resourcing requirements to the project lead team.
* Contribute to the development of other team members.
* Effectively delegate, manage and review work undertaken by others.
* Collaborate with MEP colleagues and support the development of energy modelling expertise within MEP teams.
* Engage in industry research, development studies and the authoring of industry guidance as part of the Group’s work.
What we are looking for
Experience and knowledge in the following areas:
* Energy strategies
* Building Regulations Part L assessments using Elmhurst and IES
* NABERS UK modelling
* In‑Use energy modelling and assessment
* Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort and overheating risk assessments
About you
* Experience working within a sustainability consultancy, seeking a challenge in a leading practice.
* Commitment to sustainability and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
* Technical expertise with a relevant degree and industry recognition, such as Chartered status.
* In‑depth understanding of London planning requirements.
* Confidence leading sustainability workshops with design teams.
* Good communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork.
* Experience as a team leader or line manager.
* Ability to drive technical excellence for the client’s benefit.
