Higher Level Teaching Assistant – ASD Resource Base (Full-Time)
Location: Blaenau Gwent
Contract Type: Full-Time | Term-Time Only (39 weeks/year)
Salary: £120 - £130 daily pay
Hours: 32.5 per week (8:00am – 3:00pm)
Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Resource Base at a secondary school in Blaenau Gwent. This is a long-term position ideal for candidates passionate about supporting learners with ASD and additional learning needs in a nurturing and forward-thinking educational environment.
About the Role:
As an HLTA within the ASD Resource Base, you will support the Resource Base Leader in developing a high-quality, inclusive curriculum. You’ll work closely with a committed team to deliver tailored learning experiences and drive positive outcomes for students with autism.
* Support the planning and delivery of an adapted curriculum for learners with ASD and ALN.
* Promote high expectations for behaviour and attainment.
* Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, staff, and the wider school community.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
* Support whole-school inclusion strategies.
You Will Need:
* Experience working with pupils with ASD and/or additional learning needs.
* Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales, ALN Act, and ALN Code of Practice.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* A commitment to inclusive education and learner wellbeing.
* HLTA status or equivalent qualifications/experience (required).
* EWC registration (School Learning Support Worker category) or willingness to register.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
