EC&I Department Head (Senior Technical Consultant)

We are currently recruiting for an EC&I Department Head on behalf of our sister company, TÜV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS). The ideal candidate must be a graduate Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer, chartered, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare scopes of work and estimates to support proposals.
2. Assist in preparing project documents including scopes, schedules, and reports.
3. Deliver the EC&I engineering design scope within budgets and schedules.
4. Coordinate with EC&I and other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors.
5. Serve as design authority for all EC&I activities.
6. Prepare, check, and approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scopes of work, and drawings according to British/International Standards and Codes of Practice.
7. Design, develop, review, and approve electrical and controls (IEC) engineering drawings and documents in line with standards.
8. Conduct electrical design calculations and review those performed by others, including earthing, cable sizing, short circuit, and other analyses.
9. Prepare and review datasheets and procurement packages for electrical equipment.
10. Develop key engineering documents such as SLDs, schematic diagrams, cable schedules, and layout plans.
11. Engage with vendors, oversee procurement of EC&I equipment and components.
12. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
13. Provide specialist input to 3D models.
14. Analyze proposals from equipment manufacturers and contractors.
15. Interpret vendor and discipline drawings/information.
16. Participate in safety, risk, planning, model, and constructability reviews.
17. Manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
18. Identify and communicate scope changes.
19. Adhere to Company Quality Management Systems.
20. Perform other professional duties as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in heavy engineering, chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas industries preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of EC&I experience, preferably in high hazard industries.
* Technical Engineering Degree; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and industry practices.
* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience in project work allocation and monitoring.
* Comfortable working in both office and plant environments.
* Excellent communication skills with clients and vendors.
* Knowledge of ATEX and hazardous area equipment.
* Experience or qualification in Functional Safety.
* Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and AVEVA E3D.
* Experience in designing HV and LV power systems, switchgear, MCCs, and related studies.
* Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, IS, CBIP, and ANSI standards.
* Skills in AUTOCAD, DIALUX, CG LUX software.
