We're partnering with a warm and inclusive primary school in Lewisham who are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team in September. This is more than just classroom support, it's about being a positive, consistent presence in a child's earliest school experiences. In this role, you'll be supporting pupils in Reception, some of whom may have additional needs related to communication, behaviour, or emotional regulation. You'll need empathy, creativity, and patience in equal measure and a belief that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and understood. What you'll be doing: Supporting children in Reception with a range of needs, including early signs of SEND Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils feel settled, included, and able to engage Using play-based and flexible strategies to help children communicate and regulate emotions Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support Offering a calm, kind, and reassuring presence especially when things feel overwhelming What we're looking for: Experience supporting young children, ideally with some understanding of SEND.
