Job Description:
Our client, a global, multi-billion dollar AUM, multi-strategy hedge fund, is looking to make a newly created 'Market Data Specialist' hire to sit within their global Data team.
Working as part of a lean team of leading professionals within the buy-side data space, you will report directly to the Global Head of Data. You will collaborate with different global functions to ensure that internal data infrastructure, data contract frameworks, and relationships with external stakeholders (such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv) are managed efficiently.
The role combines commercial and hands-on data and vendor management responsibilities. The hire will manage market data vendors, all relevant contracts (licensing, renewals, usage analysis), and onboarding new partners. You will also play a key role in projects to improve internal data usage, spend management, procurement lifecycle, and the integration of new tools.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a significant impact. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience as an MDM, Market Data Analyst, or Vendor Management Analyst at a buy-side firm, bank, or data vendor. Exceptional juniors may also be considered. Candidates must be willing to work in a lean team and take a hands-on approach. A strong academic background is preferred.
