Health & Safety Manager
Blue Diamond Recruitment is working with a high quality house builder based in the West Midlands who are seeking a proven Health and Safety professional to join their stable team. The successful professional will ideally have 5+ years’ experience in a Health and Safety role.
This house builder is well known for the quality homes it builds. In this role, you will lead on all aspects of head office and building sites, from onsite compliance to quality & control standards.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:-
Site
• Ensuring that on-site requirements for H&S, environmental and quality are met
• Recognising potential risks and subsequent risk evaluations
• Ensuring that employees and subcontractors are aware of safety measures including approval of RAMS
• Advising and instructing employees on appropriate practises
• Subcontractor inductions online
• Keeping track of environmental effects, including head office consumptions
• Control of waste and removal of waste and cart away to licenced tips monthly reporting.
• Lone working practices
• Review weather conditions
• ADHOC site management cover
Inspections
• Issuing permit documentation for daily and weekly inspections
• Perform site visits and issue appropriate reports
• Investigation of strikes/accidents and report drafting
• Liaising with 3rd party inspectors
• Communicating with NHBC inspectors
Documentation
• Creating and evaluating safety guidelines and practises
• Policy documentation - Company/ Employee/Subcontractor/ Driving etc.
• Overview with legal guidelines, CDM Compliance and H&S requirements
Training
• Ensuring staff are appropriately trained and qualified, including inductions
• Maintaining professional qualifications
• Apprenticeship managing
Head office
• Office H&S requirements – PAT tests/ Weekly Fire Alarm tests/Security Alarm
• H&S file for Office plus office maintenance RAMS
• Conducting return to work interviews
Reporting
• Issuing Safety Briefs and legal updates
• Issue monthly reports
• Organise and co-ordinate management meetings
• Chairing Bi & 6 monthly committee meeting
• Compiling together data for presentations and reports
• HSE Reports
• Advising Directors of compliance
• Liaise on insurance claims (personal and property)
The role offers a competitive salary (c£70,000) plus package and bonus. This house builder have an excellent reputation for their culture and product.
