Band 7 Occupational Therapist (Interim Team Lead)

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Services help people from all walks of life, as well as their families or carers. This is an opportunity to be part of the Extended Community Care Team based at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon. The service aims to support individuals to maintain independence at home, prevent unnecessary admission, and support people to regain independence after they have left hospital.
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 OT to join the Team. The service operates within the Cowal area and focuses on preventing unnecessary attendance or admission by providing assessment, treatment and care in the right setting. The Team works with care and support agencies across the health and social care economy with a strong reablement ethos.
The post holder will offer Team and clinical leadership to an MDT who support the assessment, treatment and ongoing care planning/management for eligible patients as part of our alternatives to admission/Urgent Care Pathways. There will be a clear focus on specific clinical presentations, aligned with available expertise and diagnostic capabilities on site. The team will contribute to our AHP and Frailty at the Front Door approach, as well as Discharge to Assess.
As well as supporting the Hospital MDT, the post will provide leadership, teaching, quality improvement and audit workstreams to enable Practitioners to achieve the four pillars of practice. There is also an expectation of cross-cover/co-working with the Ambulatory Emergency Care Team to support rapid response, assessment enablement and reablement.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to an MDT and support assessment, treatment and ongoing care planning for eligible patients as part of the alternatives to admission/Urgent Care Pathways.
* Contribute to service development in line with a strong reablement ethos and collaboration with care and support agencies.
* Lead, teach, and support quality improvement and audit activities to enable practice advancement.
* Collaborate with the Ambulatory Emergency Care Team for rapid response and reablement support.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Essential: Diploma, BSc/MSc, or recognised equivalent in HCPC registered Occupational Therapy.
* Must have permission to work in the UK.
* Experience as a Clinician with a broad range of clinical skills.
