As part of our Depot Management Team, you will work alongside the Night Shift Manager, supporting the Depot. Your working week will typically be 4 days over 7, starting at 22:00.
This key role ensures the smooth operation of the night shift, leading teams of Night Loaders, Sorters, and Drivers processing parcels for delivery.
The Night Lead position is for someone who can motivate staff and prioritize tasks efficiently, even when solutions are not immediately apparent. Lateral thinking and logistics experience are beneficial, but we are open to relevant experience from related fields. You should be able to work collaboratively and lead projects among your peers.
The role is night-based, with shift start and end times potentially varying based on volume, but core hours are from 22:00 to 08:00.
About the Role
1. Manage a team of up to 50 direct reports, providing leadership and direction for the shift.
2. Develop and train team members to meet SLA targets for the night shift.
3. Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations.
4. Process BI and MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders.
5. Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Management experience leading and managing a team.
2. Experience managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is advantageous.
3. Ability to work independently in a pressured environment with tight deadlines.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
5. Understanding of transport regulations is a plus.
