Unit Support Manager Band 6, part time, temporary role for 6 months.

This is a part time, 22.5 hour, 6 months Secondment position based in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Cancer services based in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary are looking to appoint a temporary backfill for their current support manager. This is a chance for an individual to build upon their experience in a fast paced and high profile service that represents a key performance area for NHS Grampian.

It is a very exciting time within cancer services in NHS Grampian as we move towards the opening of the new purpose built ANCHOR cancer treatment centre. The current support manager will be moving to work with the team to ensure a smooth transition and thus has created this opportunity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day to day operational service management across a number of varying clinical areas, working closely with clinical teams to deliver service plans. The post holder will also perform an active role in supporting the Deputy Service Manager (DSM), Unit Operational Manager (UOM) and Unit Nurse Manager (NM) as well as line management responsibility for members of the clinical support service team.

We are looking to appoint an organised and adaptable individual with a proven track record of service delivery, excellent people management skills, experienced in understanding and presenting data and working with quality systems. This is a demanding position, but one which will offer excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Additional Information For Candidates

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
