Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Durham
Contract: Full-time
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Start Date: January 2026
We are looking for an inspiring and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Durham from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop hands-on skills, creative thinking, and a passion for design and innovation.
Role Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
Teach across KS3 and KS4, with specialisms welcomed in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where every student feels supported.
Differentiate lessons effectively to meet a range of learning needs, including students requiring additional support.
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, offering constructive feedback to promote achievement.
Prepare learners for internal assessments and external examinations, including practical work and GCSE coursework.
Contribute to curriculum development, resource creation, and continuous departmental improvement.
Support extracurricular clubs or enrichment activities related to Design and Technology when possible.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3-KS4 level.
Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for creativity and innovation.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
