Job Title: Senior Reliability Engineer
Department: Operations
Location: Kingsbury site in Tamworth
Responsibilities
This role will involve setting standards and strategy for maintaining Critical National Infrastructure, focusing on health monitoring and reliability of above‑ground assets such as rotating equipment, valves, and electrical systems.
Lead reliability risk assessments using methodologies such as FMEA, FMECA and Root Cause Analysis.
Lead asset health and condition monitoring strategies, defining key asset health indicators.
Analyse reliability, performance and failure data to identify trends and provide evidence‑based recommendations for improving reliability and availability.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance and project teams to embed reliability best practices.
Lead spares and materials strategies by defining critical spares and improving stock management.
Integrate design‑for‑reliability principles into new assets, modifications, specifications and procurement.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve asset availability, data quality and operational performance across BPA’s network.
Qualifications
* Degree‑qualified Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or related discipline).
* Experienced in reliability engineering or a closely related field within an asset‑intensive industry.
* Familiarity with reliability standards (ISO 55000, SAE JA1011/1012, API RP 580/581 etc.).
* Experience using and developing CMMS systems for maintenance planning, asset history and performance reporting.
* Ability to analyse complex data and translate findings into practical, actionable improvements.
* Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership (preferred).
Salary
£45,000 - £55,000
