Overview
Kingston upon Thames, London, Greater London, England SW15. Sanctuary Personnel has a new permanent position for a Senior Practitioner within the Safeguarding Team to work full time based in Kingston. Salary up to £43,860 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people, considering their race, culture, religion and linguistic background.
* Manage an agreed caseload of children and young people in compliance with casework objectives, statutory and departmental policy and procedural requirements, including complex cases.
* Undertake direct social work responsibilities as an allocated worker to the children and young people assigned; investigate concerns regarding safety or wellbeing, assess risks and protective factors, and decide on the most appropriate course of action.
* Complete longer-term work with families to meet identified needs and improve outcomes for children.
* Provide clear written reports for child protection conferences, reviews, planning meetings and other requirements, with high-quality casework analysis and risk assessment throughout.
* Prepare high-quality court reports and support workers in the court process, including giving evidence as required.
* Maintain and update case notes and records; provide evidence in court if required.
* Ensure planning and review of statutory work with children and young people complies with statutory regulation, producing required documentation.
* Provide casework consultation to other social workers as directed by the Team Leader or Head of Safeguarding; may supervise students, trainees, less experienced staff, support staff or volunteers.
Requirements
* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent and Social Work England registered.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
