The Marketing Assistant (Digital) provides dedicated marketing and administrative support to the UECS Marketing and Communications team, and wider UECS management team as required. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial businesses within UECS, including Accommodation Essex, Wivenhoe House Hotel, Event Essex, Essex Food, Wivenhoe Park Day Nursery, Essex Rebels, and Essex Sport.

As Marketing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the team’s digital marketing activity — such as maintaining and updating webpages, coordinating email newsletters, and assisting with social media planning and content creation. You will ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms, support data-driven decision making, and help to enhance the online presence of UECS businesses.

You will build effective communication channels with students, staff, and external audiences, while developing strong working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in marketing, communications, and digital content who is keen to gain hands-on experience across multiple sectors within a university environment.

Working Arrangements

We are committed to supporting flexible and inclusive working practices. This role operates on a hybrid working model, with a combination of remote and on-campus working. However, if you prefer to work in an office environment full-time, this can be accommodated.

The contracted hours for this position are 28.5 hours per week, and there is flexibility in how these hours are distributed throughout the week. Working patterns can be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate to best support both individual and team needs.

The fixed-term post is until 31 July 2026 to cover a period of maternity leave for a permanent member of staff.

You should note that there is provision in the terms of appointment for this fixed-term post to end earlier by due notice (1 month), if the permanent member of staff decides to return early to her post.
