Are you an experienced Electrical Fitter or Engineer with a background in distribution networks and a passion for mentoring others? This is your chance to move off the tools and into a meaningful training role where you’ll help develop the next generation of energy professionals.
We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in 11kV systems, substation maintenance, and a strong understanding of safety rules and operational procedures. If you’ve coached or mentored others and want to make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
🔑 What You’ll Be Doing
• Delivering technical and safety training to apprentices, new starters, and operational staff.
• Supporting ad hoc training needs and backfill delivery.
• Contributing to the design and improvement of training programmes.
• Facilitating assessments, trade tests, and practical observations.
• Maintaining training centre equipment and ensuring safety compliance.
• Designating roles and supporting the wider training team as needed.
👤 What We’re Looking For
• Extensive experience in electrical distribution, ideally with 11kV substation equipment.
• Background as an Electrical Fitter, ideally with exposure to both distribution and transmission networks.
• Strong understanding of Distribution Safety Rules and associated policies.
• Experience working with UK Power Networks or similar DNOs is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Comfortable using PowerPoint and digital learning tools.
• A valid UK driving licence.
🎓 Desirable but Not Essential
• Previous experience delivering training or mentoring others.
• NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices (training will be provided).
• Willingness to work toward a professional training qualification.
🌍 Location & Travel
• Based at Taunton and Tipton Training Centres.
• Occasional travel to other UK sites.
• Southern-based candidates may need to travel to Tipton for T&D delivery.
