We have an opportunity for a PSV Company Bus Driver to join our team.
Job purpose: To drive passenger-carrying vehicles (PCV) ensuring safety, customer service, and comfort throughout the network of HATS buses.

About The Role
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients during journeys and handovers.
* Always wear high visibility PPE in vehicle movement areas.
* Observe speed limits within depots and school premises.
* Check vehicle condition before service by conducting safety walk-round checks and reporting defects promptly.
* Maintain vehicle cleanliness and tidiness before starting service.
* Comply with laws regarding mobile phones, smoking, and prohibited equipment during duty.
* Ensure health, safety, security, welfare, environmental, and fire safety for yourself, customers, and colleagues, including attending safety briefings and training.
* Report safety incidents following company procedures.
* Understand emergency and evacuation plans.
* Keep bus cab area safe and tidy.
* Provide high standard of customer service, offering helpful information to passengers, and behaving professionally and friendly.
* Recognize and assist vulnerable passengers, including children, the elderly, and disabled persons.
* Drive vehicles safely, legally, and professionally, adhering to set timetables when safe to do so.
* Stay updated on road conditions and service disruptions.
* Hold valid D1 category driving license and CPC license, with medical renewals up to date.
* Report any license changes affecting driving entitlement.
* Report to work punctually with appropriate equipment and dress code.
* Avoid working when overtired or under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
* Follow notification procedures for absences and report incidents promptly.
* Participate in annual appraisals and provide feedback for service improvements.
* Adhere to all HATS policies and procedures and undertake reasonable requests from the company.
* Work flexible hours, primarily between 07:00-09:00 and 14:30-16:30, and report incidents or issues to supervisors.
* Work outdoors in various weather and traffic conditions, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Skills Needed
Proven driving experience, good communication skills, and a valid UK (or acceptable) driver’s license with no more than 6 penalty points. Ability to work in the UK, provide references, and demonstrate understanding of English at ESOL Entry Level 2 or higher. Willingness to undertake necessary training, including NVQ if required.

Desired and Required Criteria
* Valid UK (or acceptable) driver’s license with no more than 6 penalty points.

* Eligibility to work in the UK and provide references.
* Proven professional driving experience.
* 7 hours of DCPC training annually.
* Secondary education or equivalent.
* Willing to undertake further training, e.g., NVQ.
* Ability to drive safely and competently.
