Food Technology Teacher – Secondary School (Endon)

Location: Endon, Stoke - On - Trent
Start Date: ASAP
Fixed Term | Long-term | Temp-to-Perm potential

Premier Education is working on behalf of one of our highly regarded partner secondary schools in Endon to recruit a dynamic and skilled Food Technology Teacher for a September start.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative teacher to join a high-expectation environment where innovation in the classroom and positive learning outcomes go hand in hand.

Essential Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
* Proven experience teaching Food Technology to KS3 and KS4
* A strong understanding of the Design & Technology curriculum
* High standards of planning, behaviour management, and pupil progress tracking
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in Food Preparation and Nutrition
* Prepare pupils for practical assessments and written components of KS4 qualifications
* Promote safe working practices and ensure hygiene, health, and safety standards are upheld
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions
* Collaborate with colleagues across the DT department to develop curriculum content
* Contribute to wider school life including enrichment, clubs, or open evenings.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Education, or a related field
* Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience
* Strong understanding of food science and technology principles
* Ability to create engaging lesson plans and assessments
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Passion for educating students about food safety and nutrition

The successful candidate will have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines. An enhanced DBS check will be required as part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
