Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing medical services to patients of the Practice. The post holder will use skills, knowledge and competencies as a qualified Nurse in order to be responsible and accountable for managing patient caseloads.

Assistin and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by seniornursing staff and GPs
Cytology
Removalof Sutures/clips
Urinalysis
TravelClinic assessment and vaccinations
ECGs
HypertensionManagement/IHD management/Diabetes management/asthma management/COPD management
Learningdisability and SMI reviews
Homevisits for CDM checks
Routineimmunisations/Childhood immunisations
Chaperoningand assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by anotherclinician
Requestingpathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
Followingagreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
Checkingemergency drugs at both sites and reordering as required
Participationin administrative systems in the practice
Atall times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
Aduty to advise senior nurse/GP/practice manager of potential problems or errorswithin the range of assigned tasks
Attendand participate in any practice meetings/clinical/GSF when required.
Leadnurse for infection control
Anyother delegated duties appropriate to the post

1. Meets with NMC revalidation requirements
2. Experience of working with the UKCC code of practice

4. Minimum of two years experience of working in a primary care environment
5. Experience of working within a nursing team
6. Experience of dealing with patients

14. Chronic disease management (diabetes/COPD/asthma/CKD/stroke/hypertension/IHD)
