Maintenance Team Leader Location: Blackpool area Salary: £60,000 – £63,000 Shift Pattern: Panama Shift Pattern (5s and 4s) The Role: A well-established manufacturing business is currently recruiting a Maintenance Team Leader to join their engineering function during an exciting period of growth and investment. With multiple capital and improvement projects scheduled to commence in 2026, this is a key leadership role within the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy. The successful Maintenance Team Leader will be an experienced and seasoned leader, capable of balancing hands-on maintenance support with effective people management. This role requires a strong technical background alongside a clear passion for continuous improvement, reliability, and performance delivery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for: * Leading, managing, and motivating a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers on shift * Providing hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance support during breakdowns and critical issues * Managing daily shift activities, workload allocation, and engineering priorities * Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability * Supporting and delivering PPM strategies and engineering best practice * Acting as the technical escalation point for complex faults and repeat issues * Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards and site engineering procedures * Contributing to upcoming capital projects and site improvements planned for 2026 About the Candidate: The ideal Maintenance Team Leader will demonstrate: * Proven experience as a Maintenance Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor, or similar leadership role * A strong background in hands-on maintenance within a manufacturing or FMCG environment * The ability to lead from the front while effectively managing and developing an engineering team * A clear passion for continuous improvement with a proven track record of delivering measurable results * Strong fault-finding capability across electrical and mechanical systems * Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) Interested in applying?
