Purpose of the Role
Join the Exterior Design team as the Senior Designer- Exterior where you'll be responsible for leading, managing and developing design solutions for Bentley’s new products in an efficient and effective manner, supporting the department and the company's requirements. In this exciting role you will lead and develop proposals and concepts integrating the brand values and the design strategy developed into concrete design alternatives in 2D, 3D and digital media. Reporting into the Head of Exterior Design your main responsibilities include;
* Working alongside and collaborating closely with other Design Managers, Lead Designers and specialists in the Design Studio
* Collaborating closely with all Lead Designers, Digital Designers, Modellers and Studio Engineers
* Liaising with Technical Functions and departments within Bentley and the wider VW Group
* Leading external companies and suppliers in agreement with the Head of Exterior Design
* Responsibility for delivery of agreed design strategy, in line with the Company / Group / Departmental objectives and targets for Beyond 100+
About the Team
The Design Department is responsible for creating everything from the initial concept through to the final design of the Interior and Exterior Design including Colour & Trim as well as for Modelling & Design Operations/Projects. The Exterior Design function at Bentley offers the pinnacle of sophistication, innovation, and meticulous craftsmanship.
About you – Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will be a Lead / Senior Designer, with proven ability to transfer designs, sketch’s and ideas into alternative digital design media. 3D CAD software, photoshop knowledge and experience are an essential requirement of the role. You will be able to work within a team and also lead your own direct reports to achieve required goals.
* Ability to translate a sketch into a 3D package, design and develop innovative design proposals
* Ability to lead and control multiple projects using effective problem solving skills and using innovative solutions
* Excellent cross company communication skills at all levels
* A proficient understanding of feasibility and production methodology within area of responsibility
* 3D CAD, Visualisation programmes, Photoshop knowledge and experience
* A relevant degree or equivalent relevant experience
We also ask that you submit a Design Portfolio, to demonstrate examples of your Design work with your application.
