The role
We are seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle, driving and collecting of waste is involved. Previous hookloader experience would be advantageous but training can be given. 06.00/07.00 starts approx 8- 9 hours per day. Monday to Friday. Applicants need to have held their class 2 licence for a minimum of 2 years for insurance purposes. Duties Operate a HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle in accordance with all safety and traffic regulations Collect waste from commercial, and industrial locations efficiently and courteously Ensure the secure loading and unloading of refuse containers. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly Maintain accurate records of collections and route completion Adhere to scheduled routes and timeframes, ensuring punctuality throughout the shift Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Assist with manoeuvring and positioning of waste containers as required Qualifications Valid HGV Class 2 licence - held for a minimum of 2 years. Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with refuse collection experience. Strong driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance with road regulations Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good organisational skills and attention to detail Physical fitness to handle manual tasks associated with waste collection tasks This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to delivering excellent service while maintaining high safety standards.
