Key Responsibilities Engineering & Operational Support

6. Deliver engineering support across multiple sites, resolving faults and providing technical expertise to FM teams.
7. Complete PPM, reactive maintenance, and self-delivered tasks efficiently and to high standards.
8. Respond to emergency situations and participate in the engineering call-out rota.

Compliance & Safety

9. Ensure all works are performed in line with Safe Systems of Work and health & safety regulations.
10. Supervise contractors, ensuring compliance with inductions and site requirements.
11. Act as a Safety Champion, proactively identifying and addressing health and safety issues.

Systems & Maintenance Management

12. Coordinate planned system shutdowns safely and efficiently.
13. Maintain plant and equipment to ensure operational reliability and cost-effectiveness.
14. Keep accurate documentation to satisfy legal, statutory, and client requirements.
15. Monitor stock levels of consumables and critical electrical spares.

Resource & Job Management

16. Plan and manage workload across multiple buildings, balancing PPM and reactive tasks.
17. Raise material requests, obtain quotations, and manage associated documentation.
18. Record and manage work orders via CAFM systems, ensuring accurate and timely completion.

Personal Development

19. Keep up to date with UK electrical standards and regulations, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
20. Expand your knowledge of M&E systems across multiple sites.
21. Review O&M manuals for new systems and recommend PPM schedule adjustments.
22. Participate in relevant training, including Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP) duties.

Collaboration & Relationships

23. Work closely with supervisors, management, and colleagues to deliver exceptional service.
24. Liaise with subcontractors to obtain specifications, quotations, and material pricing.
25. Support a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem-solving.

Person Specification Qualifications

26. City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2–3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
27. 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
28. Knowledge of SFG20 Maintenance Specification.
29. Relevant building maintenance training (First Aid, MEWP, PASMA, Water Treatment, LMS, BMS).
30. Health & Safety training.
31. Membership of a professional engineering body (desirable).

Knowledge & Experience

32. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in building maintenance environments.
33. Experience working in multi-disciplinary technical teams across complex facilities.
34. Familiarity with asset management systems, CAFM platforms, and mobile/PDA technology.

35. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and IT skills (MS Office, CAFM systems).
36. Clear, confident communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
37. Proactive, customer-focused mindset with flexibility and adaptability.
