Detailed job description and main responsibilities The Breast Medical Secretary/Waiting List Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the efficient operation of the Breast Services Department. This post combines administrative expertise with patient-focused coordination to ensure timely and effective care delivery. The postholder will be responsible for providing high-quality secretarial support to the breast care clinical team, while also managing and maintaining accurate waiting lists in line with national and local targets. The postholder will act as a key liaison between patients, consultants, specialist nurses, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring that all administrative processes, from appointment scheduling to waiting list management are handled with accuracy, efficiency, and empathy. With a strong focus on patient experience and service delivery, this role is essential in supporting timely access to care, maintaining compliance with national targets, and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
