Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Foundation Level Degree – Nursing Associate Qualification
2. NMC registered Nursing Associate
3. Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
4. Demonstrate ability to work in the area for which the application is made.
5. Good experience of working in a team
6. Experience of working with the public
Desirable criteria
7. Previous experience of working within an acute, urgent or emergency care setting.
8. Evidence of involvement in support and development of less experienced staff.
9. Endoscopy experience
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria
10. Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
11. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and good interpersonal skills.
12. Evidence of time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
13. Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
14. Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
Knowledge
Essential criteria
15. Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
16. Understanding of basic physiology, e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements etc.

17. Understand the scope of the Nursing associate role in context of the team and the organisation
