Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (Full-Time) Location: Knowsley Contract: Full-Time, with opportunity for permanent appointment Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier if available) A well-respected special school located within the Knowsley Local Authority is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join its supportive and dynamic team. The school provides specialist education for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), who have severe learning difficulties (SLD) and/or complex autism. Pupils are taught in a nurturing, structured environment tailored to meet individual developmental needs, and the school is proud of its inclusive, person-centred approach. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a school setting to support children with special educational needs, making a genuine difference to their learning and overall development. The ideal candidate will: Have experience working in a school environment (essential) Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN, particularly those with SLD and autism Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in approach Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be confident supporting learning both in and outside of the classroom Show commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare Be willing to work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide the best outcomes for pupils This is a full-time role and may lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.
