Hours: 37 Full Time
Working Style: Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.
We are currently seeking an individual with enthusiasm for an experience of property related legal work to join our team as a Conveyancing Assistant.
The property team deals with a wide range of legal work in relation to a variety of both commercial and residential property transactions. We are a progressive team that is always looking to develop efficiencies and improvements in the ways that we work. Our Team benefits from flexible working hours and many of the team members currently undertake much of their work from home, although there is still a need to attend the office at times where necessary to undertake certain aspects of our work. The team also deals with highways agreements, planning agreements, drainage agreements and other legal work thus is a good opportunity to get experience of a range of property related legal matters.
As a Conveyancing Assistant, you will undertake and assist with the whole range of conveyancing duties and execute appropriate legal and administrative duties relating to the activities of the Property and Corporate Team.
Your daily routine will include:
1. Sale and acquisition of land and property
2. Dealing with all aspects of the conveyancing involved with a caseload relating to the acquisition of a residential premises on behalf of the Authority’s Housing Services section
3. Assisting the property solicitors within the team with certain aspects of their work in relation to residential and commercial conveyancing and other property work
4. dealing with post completion matters such as Land Transaction Tax returns and payment, registering title with the Land Registry and dealing with Land Registry requisitions
5. Occupancy Agreements and licences to occupy under the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 in respect of premises occupied by tenants of the Authority
6. Leasehold transactions in respect of commercial, residential and industrial properties (including shops and market arrangements);

7. Experience of managing your own caseload relating to residential conveyancing, including new build properties
8. Investigation of title and reporting work
9. 5 GCSE’s grade A to C or equivalent or a qualification of a comparable level (Intermediate GNVW Level 2, BTEC First Certificate, NVQ Level 2)
10. Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel packages
We would welcome those with experience in the following roles:
Extensive experience in legal property work and working as a legal officer, in particular in relation to residential conveyancing.
