Job summary: Our client, a leader in Defence & Security and Marine sectors, works on innovative multi-mission solutions to support maritime and naval forces worldwide.
The Role: We are looking for a highly capable Power Applications Systems Engineer with a strong background in systems engineering and power electronics. This role involves managing requirements, developing system architectures and control strategies, and ensuring robust integration and verification of complex power systems.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to designing solutions for marine, aerospace, and defence applications, including power conversion and distribution systems such as motor drives, inverters, converters, and energy management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a technical bridge between engineering disciplines, facilitating collaboration.
* Develop system operation modes, including power-on, fault conditions, diagnostics, and self-tests.
* Apply systems engineering principles across the product lifecycle.
* Elicit and analyze customer requirements for clarity and completeness.
* Define system interfaces and lead architectural development.
* Decompose system requirements into subsystems and components.
* Promote reusability and standardisation to maximise efficiency.
* Lead interface control, requirements traceability, safety analysis, and validation activities.
* Participate in system verification and validation to ensure compliance.
* Tailor systems engineering processes to project needs while maintaining quality.
* Conduct and document safety assessments for safety-critical applications.
Required Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
* Experience applying structured systems engineering approaches throughout development.
* Understanding of requirements documentation, interface definition, configuration control, safety analysis.
* Experience with embedded systems and power electronics.
* Familiarity with tools like DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
* Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and traditional methodologies.
* Exposure to agile methods, sprints, scrums, and tools like Jira is beneficial.
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
* Systems validation and verification experience.
* Knowledge of power systems and electronic components.
* Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
* Effective communication skills for team and stakeholder interactions.
