Offer description

1. Support or take full ownership of planning and delivering internal and external events, managing logistics, resourcing, and content.
2. Work with suppliers and procurement to contract venues and services, ensuring quality and value.
3. Lead or contribute to event planning meetings and prepare event briefs, logistics documents, and literature.
4. Oversee budget preparation and monitoring for assigned events, including post event reconciliation.
5. Supervise event staff and temporary resource as needed, ensuring clarity of roles and smooth delivery.
6. Support risk management processes and contribute to maintaining functional event risk registers.
7. Attend events you manage, and occasionally support other SJP events as part of the on-site team.

Who We Are Looking For

You will be an experienced events professional with the ability to manage multiple projects, deliver to deadlines, and maintain high standards under pressure. Comfortable working independently or collaboratively, you’ll be confident engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring events positively represent the SJP brand.

Essential Criteria

8. Demonstrated experience in managing in-person and virtual events end-to-end.
9. Strong project planning, logistical and supplier management capabilities.
10. Proficient budget management skills, including event forecasting and reconciliation.
11. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
12. Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including overnight stays and extended hours during events.

Desirable Criteria

13. Experience using event platforms or digital tools for virtual delivery.
14. Knowledge of risk management within event planning.

Special Requirements:

The nature of this role means the job holder will need to work flexibly at times, especially in the lead up to and during events requiring overnight stays/extended working. Travel may be required. A full current drivers’ license and passport are required. Use of public transport may also be appropriate
