Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree
2. HCPC Registration
3. Evidence of C.P.D
Desirable criteria
4. Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
5. Postgraduate study/training related to older people and frailty
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Evidence of working with frail patients, with complex needs which require advanced clinical reasoning
7. Broad experience of working at a band 5 level within the NHS, including experience in rehabilitation
8. Evidence of effective supervision of junior staff
9. Evidence of and desire to supervise students
10. experience working within the NHS
11. relevant and recent experience working in an inpatients OPS service
Desirable criteria
12. Involvement in/ leading QI projects
13. Experience in a community setting
Technical skills/competencies
Essential criteria
14. Ability to assess, manage & treat elderly patients with multi-pathology conditions
15. Experience of respiratory/on-call
16. Skills in goal setting & evaluating outcome measures
17. Ability to produce clear written documentation of intervention & reports
18. Therapeutic moving & handling skills at specialist level
19. IT Skills within word processing

20. Use of standardised assessments
21. Ability to complete a holistic assessment which may include some Physiotherapist and nursing skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
22. Good knowledge of long term conditions affecting the older person
23. Understanding current legislation relevant to older people and frailty
24. The interface between hospital, intermediate care and community services.

25. A sound understanding of capacity issues and ability to recognise need for formal assessment

26. Demonstrate excellent verbal and nonverbal communication with an ability to establish a good rapport with a range of people.

28. To be able to delegate work appropriately & Ability to work effectively in a team
