Overview
MarkJames Search is seeking a Client Engagement Manager to support the continued growth of our European contractor recruitment business. This role will work closely with the Client Engagement Director, playing a key part in winning new contractor-led client opportunities, while also growing, retaining, and developing existing accounts across Europe.
This is a commercially focused, client-facing role suited to someone who thrives in a consultative sales environment and enjoys building long-term partnerships. You will support new business acquisition efforts while acting as a trusted point of contact for established clients, helping to expand service engagement across an existing and new client base, improve delivery outcomes, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner closely with the Client Engagement Director to support new client acquisition across European markets, with a focus on contractor/contingent workforce solutions (70%) and permanent staffing solutions (30%).
* Support the development and execution of client engagement strategies to win new business across multiple disciplines and industry verticals in Europe.
* Manage and grow a portfolio of client accounts, identifying opportunities to expand contractor headcount, introduce new services, and deepen relationships
* Act as a day-to-day commercial contact for clients, ensuring a high level of service, responsiveness, and account development
* Assist with market mapping, prospecting, pipeline management, and preparation for client meetings and pitches
* Participate in client meetings (virtual and in-person) alongside the Client Engagement Director to support deal progression and account growth
* Deliver clear, compelling, and solutions-based value propositions tailored to client needs and hiring challenges
* Work collaboratively with delivery and operations teams to ensure client expectations are met and contractor requirements are fulfilled efficiently
* Support contract renewals, extensions, and redeployments to maximise account lifetime value
* Maintain accurate client activity, pipeline, and opportunity data within the CRM system
* Track and contribute towards agreed revenue targets, account growth metrics, and client engagement KPIs
* Provide ongoing market insight and feedback to leadership to support wider sales and business strategy
Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years proven experience in a client focussed business development role within a recruitment or staffing agency environment.
* Experience supporting, winning, and growing contractor / contingent workforce business, ideally across European markets.
* Proven track record of managing client accounts and delivering against multiple live roles and client priorities
* Strong understanding of the recruitment sales lifecycle, including prospecting, client engagement, solution presentation, and account growth.
* Confident, professional communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skills.
* Commercially minded with the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities within existing accounts.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
* Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously.
