Teaching Personnel are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work in a friendly, well‑established all‑through school in Tonypandy, supporting pupils across primary and secondary age groups. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands‑on school experience, particularly those with an interest in behaviour support and pupil wellbeing.
No formal teaching assistant qualification is required — your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are what matter most.

The school is a welcoming, inclusive and community‑focused setting supporting pupils aged 3–16. Staff work closely together to provide a calm, structured and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe and supported. There is a strong focus on pastoral care, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour, with excellent guidance for support staff new to education.
About the Role
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils in classroom activities across primary and secondary phases
Help pupils to stay focused, regulated and engaged in learning
Provide 1:1 or small‑group support, particularly for pupils who may need extra encouragement
Assist with behaviour management strategies and classroom routines
Support pupils with additional learning needs such as SEMH, ADHD or ASD (training provided)
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and progress
Work alongside teachers and experienced support staff to create a calm learning environment
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:
Patient, calm and confident working with children or young people
Interested in education, behaviour support or child development
Able to follow guidance and work as part of a team
Reliable, adaptable and willing to learn on the job
Experienced in care, youth work, coaching, childcare or customer‑facing roles (helpful but not essential)
Passionate about making a positive difference in pupils’ lives
Requirements
Teaching Personnel can support you with obtaining:
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
Enhanced DBS (or Update Service)
Two recent, relevant references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
