Responsibilities
* Act as Project Manager on a wide range of projects delivering liveable places and better sustainable transport routes in urban and rural settings.
* Work directly with our clients to achieve their sustainable transport needs whilst helping to grow and develop our work with them.
* Demonstrate traffic engineering or transport planning experience, desirably including traffic signals design and modelling.
* Prepare and review reports, drawings (using CAD), schedules and other documents in accordance with appropriate design standards, legislation and guidance including LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, Traffic Signs Manual, MfS, MfS 2, DMRB and CDM 2015.
* Be responsible for the financial performance of projects.
* Undertake technical review and checking of design deliverables within the team.
* Work collaboratively with the Liveable Places team, colleagues in our wider Transport team and the wider WSP business to achieve our aims and objectives.
Qualifications
* A civil engineering, transport engineering or transport planning degree.
* Membership of a relevant professional body.
* Chartered Engineer or Chartered Transport Planning Professional status.
* Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals.
* Proven track record in project management and financial control.
* Passion for mentoring and developing talent.
* Transport, traffic signals, road safety or highway engineering experience.
* Good spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with others including public sector officials, members of the public and other senior colleagues.

Working Conditions
The role is based in Birmingham, England, with opportunities for travel to client sites as required.
