Accounts Payable Co-ordinator | Belfast | Hybrid Working 12-month FTC | Full-time | £salary up to £31,000 per annum (experience dependent) Reed Accountancy are delighted to be partnered with a highly successful and growing business operating within the logistics space in the appointment of an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As Accounts Payable Coordinator, you'll play a key role in managing the full lifecycle of accounts payable activities. You'll oversee invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations, while also supervising and mentoring an Accounts Payable Assistant. This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, stakeholder interaction, and opportunities to improve systems and processes. Key responsibilities include: Accounts Payable Oversight Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring adherence to internal controls and deadlines Review and approve invoice coding and payment batches prepared by the Accounts Payable Assistant Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and relevant tax regulations Team Leadership & Supervision Provide day-to-day guidance, workload allocation, and training to the Accounts Payable Assistant. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and support professional development Ensure adequate cover for absence within the accounts payable function Supplier & Stakeholder Management Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and resolve escalated payment issues Negotiate and agree payment terms where required Liaise with procurement and other departments to address invoice discrepancies or disputes Payments & Approvals Prepare and oversee payment runs ensuring accuracy and timeliness Review and authorise payment runs within delegated authority limits Reconciliation & Reporting Oversee monthly supplier statement reconciliation and resolve outstanding items Prepare AP-related reports for management, including aged creditor analysis and accrual listings Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Essential criteria GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths and/or able to demonstrate equivalent training or experience Previous experience in a similar accounting role Experience of managing high volumes of data and managing / prioritising deadlines Operational planning, shift resource management, and process improvement Experience of managing and leading a team Experience of providing high quality service to both internal and external customers in a Finance environment Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload To apply for the Accounts Payable Coordinator position, please apply here or contact Mary O'Mahony at Reed Belfast.
