Part-Qualified Management Accountant
Whytematter Staffing Solutions are proud to be supporting our client, an established and growing business, in their search for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone actively studying towards their ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification who is seeking to build a career within a progressive finance function.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department. This role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of finance activities, working closely with senior finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting:
4. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
5. Support year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
6. Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
7. Assist in VAT returns, tax computations, and statutory compliance
Budgeting & Forecasting:
8. Support the preparation of budget reports and financial forecasts
9. Monitor actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysis
10. Assist in cash flow forecasting to optimize financial planning
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
11. Process invoices, payments, and expenses
12. Ensure timely reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts
13. Assist in improving credit control and cash collection processes
Process Improvement & Compliance:
14. Support the automation of financial processes to improve efficiency
15. Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax laws, and company policies
16. Contribute to internal controls and risk management procedures
The Person:
Education & Qualifications:
17. Part-qualified in ACCA / CIMA / ACA (actively studying)
18. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Skills & Experience:
19. 1-3 years of experience in a similar finance role (experience in a SaaS environment is desirable but not essential)
20. Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting principles
21. Proficient in Excel; experience with Xero is desirable
22. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
23. Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
24. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
