The Governing Board of Wrockwardine Wood Infant School and Nursery is seeking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our Reception team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. About the Role: As our Reception Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 4–5. You’ll be responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment where all children are encouraged to thrive and develop a love for learning. This is a full-time maternity cover post, starting in April 2026. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver rich, purposeful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and independence. Establish warm and supportive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues. Assess and monitor children’s progress effectively, using observations to inform planning and next steps. Promote a safe, inclusive classroom where all children feel valued, respected, and able to succeed. Work closely with the wider EYFS team to deliver a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your knowledge of EYFS pedagogy and practice. The Successful Candidate Will Have: A recognised teaching qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience of working in an EYFS setting, preferably within a school environment. A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early years pedagogy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A reflective and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
